Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I obtain service for my
Eaton or Char-Lynn Product?
In most cases the Eaton or Char-Lynn product you have is part of a total
hydraulic system and is installed on vehicle or machine. Service on this
equipment should be performed by an authorized service center of the Original
Equipment Manufacturer (O.E.M.).
If this is not convenient you can contact
an authorized Eaton or Char-Lynn Service Center near your. Be sure to
have the part number and date of manufacture available when you call.
What type of hydraulic fluid should
I use?
The ability of Eaton hydraulic components to provide the desired performance
and life expectancy depends largely upon the fluid used. The proper hydraulic
fluid depends on the application and environment in which the equipment
is to operate. It is not the policy of Eaton to recommend brand names,
however we can give you complete guidelines for making a selection. Click

Fluid Recommendations".
Who do I contact with a technical
service question?
When you have a question, want a replacement, or parts for an Eaton product
you should contact the O.E.M. of your equipment or an Authorized
Eaton Distributor. You should have the Eaton product number for the
item prior to contacting the above noted people. The Eaton product number
could be stamped on the item or a name tag could be located on it.
How can I find specific Product information or confirm Product numbers?
Much of our product information can be found on our Product Digital Literature site, which is a collection of PDF versions of most of our catalogs with some related Parts and Service documents. This site does have a search function. If you are searching to confirm a specific product number, you may also want to contact us via the Product Technical Support Form.
